What Is A Class Action Lawsuit?

A class-action lawsuit is a type of lawsuit where a single plaintiff represents a group of plaintiffs in a lawsuit against the defendant. A class-action lawsuit typically occurs where you have a large group of plaintiffs, usually at least 40 or more, and that one plaintiff and one attorney will represent the entire class. If the lawsuit is successful, all of the plaintiffs, all of the members of that class, will be paid out of the recovery in that suit.
