What Constitutes A Contract?

There are several types of contracts in Florida. The first type is a formal written contract, which is a document signed by both parties, and that’s what most people think of when they think of a contract. But in addition to that, you can also have a contract formed by an exchange of letters between parties. You can also have an informal oral contract, which is a spoken agreement between the parties where there is no paper document at all. Finally, under Florida law, you may have a contract imposed by law, what’s called quantum meruit, where Florida law imposes a contract upon parties when certain conditions occur.
